  2. Origin For Pc And Mac
  • If you recently reformatted your Computer or Laptop and hate redownloading the Origin games again. You might need to back up first your Origin Games Library folder so you can instantly play your Origin Games on your fresh Computer.
  • Jul 10, 2017  If you’re uninstalling all of your games and/or Origin, right-click to Copy the entire folder. If you’re only uninstalling one or some of your games, open the folders for those specific games and find the Saves folder. Right-click it and Copy them individually. Paste to the desktop, or wherever else you would like to store your backups.
  • Select the location where you want to back up your files, then choose Use for Backup. Your files will now back up daily. Note: The first time that you open Outlook after restoring a Time Machine backup, Outlook rebuilds its database to accommodate the restored items.
  • You need to install Origin in partition C (install Origin by default). Then make a folder Origin Games in your external hard drive. Again clear Origin cache. Restart your machine. Now change your games path by Origin / Application Settings / Installs&Saves / Cloud Storage - Game library location-on the right you will see -Change folder.

Dec 12, 2018  Here’s how to do that: Find the game you need to locate in your Game Library. Right-click the game tile and select Locate game. Find the folder where the game is located, then click Select Folder. Download the Origin client, grab a soda (or tea, if that's your thing), and dig into that game you've been obsessing over.

EA Origin is less feature rich in my opinion to interface with as compare to Steam, Uplay, GOG and Other PC Games clients. In Steam, there is a clear backup and restore feature for Games as well as Apps. In Uplay and GOG, you can simply copy Games folder and then relocate them upon restore. But in Origin, you won’t come across such option for easy backup and restore of already downloaded games.

As Mass Effect Andromeda is one of the recent major titles to release on Origin by EA, I wanted to backup and relocate my 43GB+ downloaded files of Mass Effect Andromeda to another PC, and also keep a backup on my external hard disk, but no luck, so I had to bang my head around for quite some time in searching for an absolute solution only to figure out the workaround instead, which also an official solution given by EA.

So if you want to Backup and Restore/Relocate Games on Origin (Version: 10.4.6.33873), follow following steps:

  • Copy the Game folder from Origin Games folder to your desired storage location, the default path for Origin Games is C:Program Files (x86)Origin Games.

Now While Restoring/Relocating your game:

  • Open Origin Client, Go to Application Settings -> Installs and Saves and Then select ‘Game library location‘ to your desired location.
  • Go to the My Games Library, select Game you want to restore/relocate, and click on Install. (If you don’t see the install option means you have not removed the Game folder from original location after Copying. I advice you to rename it instead of deleting so that you have an extra backup.)
  • After clicking install, as you see the installation progress starts to begin, Pause the installation and Exit the Origin client.
  • Now go to the storage drive path you have selected in ‘Game library location’ and paste your copied Game folder in it and Replace(Overwrite) the existing files if prompted.
  • Now after Copy of files gets complete, go ahead and Start the Origin client again and resume the download and You should see the Installation progress bar skips to the End.

Sometimes it doesn’t accept all of the copied files and installation doesn’t exactly progresses till the end, but you save most of the bandwidth was going to waste originally. This could save several bucks for Gamers with limited download bandwidth. I still don’t understand Why Origin has to keep Backup and Restore feature of installed Games so tedious, everyone doesn’t have the Open bandwidth and download limit to install Games of size in Tons of GBs in an instant. I hope Origin brings improvements to Backup and Restore feature in future releases, meanwhile hope this guide helps you.

  4. If you want to save Health and Activity data from your device or Apple Watch, you need to encrypt your backup: Select the box called Encrypt [device] backup and create a memorable password. If you don't need to save your Health and Activity data, you can make a backup that isn't encrypted. Just click Back Up Now.
Write down your password and store it somewhere safe, because there's no way to recover your iTunes backups without this password.
